Scripps Sunday #13

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving and are so grateful that we got to have you back home with us! As you jump into these next few weeks of finals before Christmas, I wanted you to keep gratitude at the forefront of your mind. And what better way to do that than to remind you of this classic book you illustrated back in 2008. Notice the one picture that I enlarged below as it was a wonderful foreshadowing of the heart that God has given you in caring so deeply for the earth.  "Our first responsibility, the most potent offering we possess is gratitude."  -Robin Wall Kimmerer  Braiding Sweetgrass

a little reflection in gratitude for you on your birthday weekend   What might have been  the precise moment?  What might He have had       in mind? What plan did He foresee?       when God       purposefully fashioned me,       knowing       when and where and why       He would      love me      into existence.  — Beams of Prayer: Spiritual Reflections with Edward J. Gift me with the hope-filled  understanding  that You await me patiently.  That I needn’t make up for lost time. Remind me that I have found You –       and needn’t seek anything else. Remind me that what I’ve become       and who I am       are more than could be expected,       more than I deserve. Remind me that the strongest of trees       slowly developed its strong, deep roots. Let me thirst for time to savor new growth. — Beams of Prayer: Spiritual Reflections with Edward J. Farrell
