Scripps Sunday #35
For one of my classes, I had an assignment to write a blessing for someone, and so I wrote one for your sophomore year and one for Taylor's senior year. It was easy to do as I loved gathering words and phrases from different prayers and other things we've shared over the years. I love you to the moon and back, and pray that these words would be an encouragement to you today and through the year. 💗💗💗💗💗
A Blessing for your Sophomore Year
May this be
a year of growth, wonder, and deep joy.
May you
know that the Lord our God is with you and that He delights in you beyond your
wildest dreams, and may that spill over into the way you live and love and move
in this world.
May you be like
a warm lamp, shining constantly and steadily. As you bring this light into your
dancing, into your studies, into your dorm room, to the ultimate field, to CCF,
and on adventures, people will want to move towards you as you make them feel
seen and heard and celebrated and loved.
May you
continue to be with people with whom you feel like you’re in your best outfit
when you’re with them, even through you’re just in a t-shirt.
May your
boundless curiosity keep you after God’s mysteries and direction, and may your
growing empathy guide you to the needs of those around you.
When insecurity, shame, comparison, disappointment, and failure knock on your door, may you know this is part of being human. May these be the very things that bring you back to God’s love. May you breathe and then notice & return to your true self.
May you
experience contentment and a light heart.
May
grace surprise you and may you be expectant to see it all around you.
May
you find your voice and use it to be an advocate for yourself and for others.
May you see the world through a lens of compassion, equity, justice, and love.
As you
learn to radically love your body, may you see her as a gift who gives you the
strength to do what you love and may you nourish her, respect her, and honor
her.
May you
have open arms taking in all the beauty around you and in you through the year
ahead.
May the
peace of Christ go with you wherever He may send you in the coming days.
May you
know God more deeply this year.
From there,
all the details will fall into place.
