Scripps Sunday #76
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5–6
“Success” is often portrayed as a matter of setting one’s goals, making an agenda, and working strategically to reach a chosen destination in life, whether it be a matter of study, career success, or some other mark of status. The contrasting vision in Proverbs 3 is an open attitude entrusting our future to the Lord - “success”, it seems, is not about succeeding in my plans, but rather responding faithfully to the opportunities presented to us. - Dr. Bill Cayley
