Scripps Sunday #47
Of this painting Brian Kershisnik wrote, "...many unseen forces are interested in you, love you, and work to influence matters for your profound benefit. Most of what we all do is resist it, misinterpret it, or mess it up, but my experience indicates that these unseen efforts persist impossibly. I thank God for that."
I was reminded of this painting while standing there watching all the people on Friday night make a circle around you waiting to give you a hug after your show. One friend from your ultimate team was literally jumping up and down with excitement. Katie told me how it was so wonderful to watch you on stage as you embodied both strength and grace so beautifully. I wish I could have captured it in a video, but I did not want to be annoying with my phone in the corner, so I will do my best to remind you of it here.
It was a beautiful picture of the beloved song by David Wilcox called "Burgundy Heart Shaped Medallion:"
If I had a spell of magic
I would make this enchantment for you
A burgundy heart-shaped medallion
With a window that you could look through
So that when all the mirrors are angry
With your faults and all you must do
You could peek through that heart-shaped medallion
And see you from my point of view.
I'd add to this that you could peek through this heart-shaped medallion and see you from the perspective of all those who came to cheer for you at the show and from Janie who was so delighted in meeting your friends and seeing the community you have surrounded yourself with and from so many who love and support you and from the Creator, Redeemer and Giver of Life who rejoices over you with loud singing.
