Scripps Quarantine Day #2

 

In the midst of a world ransacked by uncertainty, polarization, confusion, consumerism, and division.  I sense the Holy Spirit whispering three words to us.....

"Rest, baby, rest."   Rest from the drive of achievement and accomplishment, productivity and performance.   Rest from the shoulds of everything you think should do, but God never called you to do.    Rest from the news cycles of doomsday that leave you feeling everyday is gloomsday.    Rest from the social feeds that make you feel less than, empty, reduced.    Rest, baby, rest.    Remember, Jesus' yoke is easy and light, and you never carry it alone.    "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.   Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.   I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
